For the artist painter I am, it's a real pleasure to paint an ancient Provence village like this one. It invites you to wander along it's romantic cobbled narrow streets, with their typical and picturesque old houses made with ochre stone, sometimes painted with pastel colours.

To paint an ancient French village, for the artist painter I am is to refer to historical and cultural symbolic values.
It is to highlight the rural heritage. It is to invite the art lovers to wander into the narrow cobbed streets, to admire the old houses, and why not to rejuvenate to get emotion before the old colored stones with their history.
The diversity of the architecture of the ancient and charming french villages is a strong spring of inspiration for the most of the contemporary artist painters.

In many Provence villages you can see several fountains. I've painted with great plaesure this one in the village of "Mollans sur ouveze", with it's pretty shadowed wash-house and it's typical fountain with the beautiful reflections of water.
