Sunsets with their warm and delicate colours, with their luminous atmosphere and their impressive beauty of dusk, give to the landscapes and seascapes a peaceful mood I like to paint. When I am painting sunsets, I think to the coming twilight, this magic but fleeting moment of the finishing day. It typifies, for the artist I am, intense and romantic, however relaxing emotions, I strive to represent on my canvas.

I have been fascinated by this sunset on the island of Naxos in the Cycladic archipelago, with the warm colors filtering thru the trees, with the charming silhouette of the small chapel and the shimmering reflects of the light on the sea.
